How Does Laser-like Lipo Work?

Applications
Loss of Adipose Tissue – Skin tightening – Cellulite reduction – Skin rejuvenation

Non-surgical Lipo Laser treatment is a procedure that helps men and women lose that last stubborn weight they can’t seem to get off no matter how much exercise and dieting they do.

Since first being introduced in 1998 by Columbian surgeons Drs. Rodrigo and Clara Neira, laser liposuction has drawn a great deal of attention from US plastic surgeons.  First used in hopes of reducing the pain and inflammation commonly experienced after traditional liposuction, Drs. Neira discovered that by applying lasers prior to fat removal, the fat cells became softer and easier to extract, and more importantly, the amount of post-surgery discomfort was considerably reduced.

While “laser lipo” cannot replace traditional liposuction for large-scale procedures, it’s been shown to complement other liposuction procedures quite nicely, giving patients the option of having liposuction applied to more delicate areas — the face, for example — that would otherwise go untreated due to the invasive nature of traditional treatment.  Although the basic process of removing fat remains the same, the method and techniques incorporating lasers allow surgeons to produce more detail-oriented results, with faster recovery time for their patients.

How does the Lipo Laser Work?

The Lipo low level lasers are released through the treatment pads, triggering a chemical signal in the fat cells that breaks down stored triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol, which are released through the cell membranes. Fat content is then transported around the body to tissues where it will be “burned off” during a period of post-treatment exercise.

Exercise creates a demand in our bodies for extra energy. The body responds to this demand by releasing stored fat content to be used as fuel, but the release can come from anywhere in the body. Through the use of low-level lasers, Lipo mimics the body’s natural fat burning process, allowing you to target an area of your body for fat burning even before you begin exercising.

Non-Surgical Lipo Laser Procedure

Non-Surgical Lipo Laser Results

The non-surgical Lipo Laser treatment is a procedure that will give long lasting results. This procedure will need at least 8 treatments. This will depend on where on the body you get the non-surgical Lipo Laser treatments and how much fat and cellulite the candidate has.

After the treatments there will be no swelling or bruising.

You may look like you have lost weight within the first session of the non-surgical Lipo Laser treatment, but most recommendations say 8-10 are necessary to see full results. There will be an immediate centimeter loss on the specific areas. This procedure is pain free, safe and risk free.

Pre-Treatment

Avoid:

  • Heavy meals in the 2-4 hours before and after each treatment as this may confuse the body about what fat to metabolize.
  • Fasting before treatment –body will go into starvation mode and the fat may become more resistant to laser treatment.
  • Coffee, tea, or carbonated beverages prior to a treatment as these may cause bloating. GOOD hydration provides a healthy lymphatic system.

Treatment around time of menstruation may impact measurements because of bloating

Post treatment

Exercise to metabolize released “fatty” material as energy source within 3 hours of treatment. Goal should be at least 300-400 calories aerobically. Consume ½ body weight in ounces daily of water

Lipo Clinical Expectations

Lipo is a course of 10 Treatment sessions where you can achieve an average reduction of a 10-12% reduction in circumference at the target area of treatment. It is safe and effective and there is no down time. It is not magic however and still requires you to follow a sensible diet and exercise routine to achieve best results.

The fat cell becomes deflated in essence. Think of it as going from grapes to raisins! Since the raisins remain it is important to continue to follow a low carbohydrate healthy diet and regular exercise to maintain the changes achieved with the Lipo Laser. Without that those raisins will plump back up to juicy grapes again. With single treatments we can achieve an average of 1% reduction in circumference at a single session at the targeted area. We can treat more than one area per visit. Total treatment time is 30 minutes per Lipo session and 30 minutes on the Sauna Bed.

Target areas are:

  • Abdomen in any 4inch band
  • Thighs (both)
  • Arms (both)

Additional Info

Low Level Light Therapy (LLLT) will reduce inches in the target area treated- it is not a weight loss laser- fat is not dense so that a small weight takes up a great deal of room. This translates into loss of inches and results in limited loss of weight. Many of our clients do lose weight but it is difficult to assess as some people build muscle during a treatment course due to improved diet, exercise and lifestyle. Muscle is denser than fat so weight may actually increase or remain the same with an accompanying reduction in circumference and dress size. This would be a healthy and desired outcome. The laser stimulates the fat cells to naturally turn on their fat breaking enzymes, which then release the components to be available as an energy source for the body.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS?

When will Lipo Laser work best?

Laser contouring works best when you support its effects with healthy lifestyle choices i.e.: A healthy diet and exercise and 2 liters of water per day. Looking good and feeling good requires that you look after yourself properly -you’re worth it!

What happened during your treatment?

The laser creates tiny pores on the fat cell membrane allowing each fat cell to “split its contents” to be removed by increased circulation and eliminated through your lymphatic system.

How long is each treatment?

A Lipo laser fat reduction treatment takes 30 minutes.  You will then be in the sauna bed for 30 minutes, for a total of one hour.  The length of time for your post-treatment exercise to “burn off” the free fatty acids is determined at your consultation and is based on your requirements and goals.

Is it comfortable?

Most people feel very little during the treatment and find it comfortable and relaxing. The typical sensation felt is a slight warmth where the treatment pads are in contact with your skin.

Is it suitable for everyone?

Lipo Laser can be used on both men and women and can treat all areas of the body except the female breasts. As with any treatment, people with certain medical conditions should not use the Lipo Laser. Your Lipo practitioner will go through a full medical questionnaire and consultation prior to the fat reduction treatment in order to confirm suitability.

Is it safe?

Yes. Independent clinical studies have shown the Lipo Laser to be completely safe with no side effects. The fat reduction laser simply triggers a natural reaction of fat cell release. The process does not cause any damage and cells remain intact, just smaller, giving immediate results.

How long will the results last?

Results are long-term, provided your calorie intake and eating plan is stable, and you engage in regular exercise. Further treatments can be performed to correct diet indulgence or target another area of the body.

When will I see results?

Often results can be seen immediately and improve with every treatment. Over the course of ten sessions, you can achieve dramatic reshaping of the body and reduction in cellulite.
